About the Library

Our collection includes over 11,000 titles in print, as well as e-books and online resources such as World Book Online and PebbleGo, a database for younger students. We have DVDs and CDs, digital cameras and data projectors, document cameras, MP3 players, laptops, and much more! You can find out more about our collection (as well as access to linked web resources) at Destiny, our online catalog.

Library hours & policies

Hours:  The library at school is open from 7:15 until 2:45 daily.  Many of our resources are available online 24/7 using Destiny, our online catalog.  For more information and links to other great online resources we provide, go to the Learning, Teaching, or Search Tools for Kids pages.

Check-out:  Students may check out up to 4 books for a period of 2 weeks. Kindergarten students may check out 2 books at a time.  Students can check out additional items as needed for research and special projects.

Lost & damaged items:  Beginning in Kindergarten, students are taught proper book care. In the event that books are lost or damaged, students are billed for the replacement cost of the item. We appreciate your help at home in taking care of these valuable resources.

Library staff

Ms. Brannock can't wait to see you at the library!  Ms. Brannock has been a school librarian in North Carolina for over 10 years.  This is her third year at Wendell Elementary School.  I love using technology and helping students find the perfect book!  What are you reading right now, and what would you like to read next?

Here's a peek at some of the books on my "favorites" shelf right now:
